Bed & Breakfast near Roanne

(Rhone Alpes Area)

 .

Just a few miles away from Roanne, our Bed and Breakfast rooms were opened in July 2002in a fully restored house. We have aimed to maintain the authentic character of the building and at the same time provide modern comfort. The house is in a very peaceful setting but only 17 km from the A72 ( Lyon-Clermont Ferrand ) motorway making access to us particularly easy

Just 2 hours away from London, thanks to Ryan air and its flights to St Etienne or Clermont Ferrand ( see http://www.ryanair.com/ ), enjoy the break and the glimpse of French rural life near Roanne.

Make a change from the usual hotel : enjoy the space , the view and appreciate a peaceful rest

THE ROOMS

All our rooms are spacious and bright. They all have private bathrooms (with large showers)and separate toilets. The bedding is top quality and larger than the standard size : double beds are 1.60m x 2.00m, single beds are 1.00m x 2.00m.

Terrace

Breakfast is served, weather permitting, on the terrace. We offer tea, coffee, hot chocolate as well as cereals and yoghurts from local farms. Fresh baguette comes from the village bakery and the home-made jam comes from fruit grown in our orchard.

Rural France is at your feet with views towards a medieval village and quiet fields dotted with white Charolais cattle.

Self Catering Facilities

If you choose to self-cater, the main room is available with all that is necessary ; fridge, micro-wave, dishwasher etc...

It is suitable for preparing light meals ; salads, pasta etc...or for re-heating dishes bought from the local "traiteur" ( deli ).We can suggest good places to get these from.

You will be seated at a table made from  the Domaine's old wooden fermentation vats that date back to the origins of the Domaine in the late 18th century ( just before the French Revolution!).

And if you want to learn French to make the most of your stay , we  recommend a  French language and cookery school in a Chateau near Roanne (see http://www.3ponts.edu/).
