Copy of a revolutionnary ceramic. The Déchelette Museum in Roanne houses France's largest collection of ceramic objects from this period |
The house in which you will be staying was built just before the French Revolution (1789). It was originally used as stables and in 1869, it was converted into the vineyard workers' house (it was customary until very recently for landowners to house their employees). In 2002, it started its third career |

Summer at Fontenay |

The village of Villemontais is just 5 minutes walk away from the Domaine. The village restaurant in the centre of the village is an easy stroll away which is very pleasant on a summer evening

Roanne has an excellent
reputation for the quality of its local gastronomy and in particular the
world famous Troisgros restaurant (***Michelin)., without any doubt
amongst the handful of top restaurants in France. It is only 15 km away
from the Domaine
Many other restaurants in town offer excellent value for money. In the local villages, you will find wonderful unpretentious country cooking |
